If you’re here at XDA and use an Android device, you have most likely rooted it and should already know about the SuperUser app. For those unfamiliar, it’s essentially a root access management app that prompts you when another app requests root privileges. It also maintains a list of apps that will be automatically approved and denied access. A few months back, our very own Elite Recognized Developer and Senior Moderator Chainfire developed SuperSU as a SuperUser replacement on steroids, offering more advanced superuser access rights management . Today, we share another root access management app, but one built with simplicity in mind: SimpleSU.
As the name suggests, SimpleSU doesn’t concentrate on packing a lot of features. Instead, XDA Senior Member _n0p_ developed it to be the lightest, simplest, and most barebones root access management app around. In the developer’s own words, “I don’t need and don’t want a separate Java process to control root access. I want a simple way to allow root access for application, but block unwanted.”
SimpleSU offers no GUI and app root access is managed by making entries for the app in a text file. You can learn more, download the app and join the discussion by visiting the forum thread.
