Sony Xperia M and L Get Smart Social Camera Port

Although released into the market less than a year ago, it seems that the Sony Xperia L and M are missing out on a lot of the fun and goodies its younger and older siblings are getting, namely the Android 4.3 update and the host of features that come along with it. Of course, one may say that the Xperia L has been gifted with something greater and rarer, AOSP KitKat support from Sony, but where does that leave the Xperia M?
Well, owners of either of these phones can now at least cross off one item off their wish lists, as XDA Senior Member xperiaz2 has ported the Sony Smart Social Camera to both of these phones. Compatible only with devices running the official Android Jelly Bean firmware, the port includes most, if not all, of the funky camera apps of the camera software, such as:
- Social Live
- Info Eye
- Augmented Reality
- Wikitude Places
- Background Defocus
- Timeshift Burst
The port has to be installed with the provided flashable zip files, but you must make sure to flash the one that is specifically for your version of firmware. It should also be noted that some users are experiencing force closing of the actual camera app (not to be confused with the add-on camera apps). So for now, you may have to use a third party camera app if you’re interested in installing the port.
