One of the drawbacks to rabidly flashing the latest nightly (or pretty much, any and every ROM that can possibly be thrown at your device) is the often laborious task of backing up all your apps and data. Some of us may well find ourselves flitting between several different apps to backup different things to different locations.
Super Backup by XDA Forum Member Mobile Idea Studio aims to solve this issue. The app is a simple, yet functional backup tool that will allow you to make backups of various different things all from one intuitive holo-themed interface. The app currently supports the following features (some of which will require root):
- Backup your apps and their data.
- Backup contacts, SMS and call logs.
- Backup your bookmarks and calendars.
- Manage your backup data.
- Schedule automatic backups
- Automatically upload scheduled backups to your Gmail account.
- Define a custom backup location
While you may well be able to already do all of these things one way or another, Super Backup offers a handy (and completely free) alternative to using several different applications to achieve the same result. It runs on Android version 2.0 and upwards, and you can find the APK in the application thread if you’d like to try it out for yourself._________
