Sync Facebook Contacts without a Third Party App

The inability of Ice Cream Sandwich to sync Facebook contacts has been something of an inconvenience for many people. It’s no surprise that people want all their contacts to sync, and considering just how huge Facebook’s user base is, this probably amounts to a large percentage of many peoples contacts. There are of course various ways around this with third party apps such as Facebook Contact Sync and HaxSync. These apps however, involving disclosing your contact info to a third party, and many people are reluctant to do just that.
If you are one of those left without the ability to sync, XDA Recognized Developer Deadknight just might have a solution for you. He has put together a guide on creating your own app to perform the same task as one you would download from the market—the only difference being that the only third party your data is disclosed to is yourself.
The process essentially involves creating your own Facebook application, and using the unique ID of that application in conjuction with the sync tool provided by Deadknight. This means that although many people may be using the sync tool provided here on XDA, their info is being disclosed only to the Facebook app that they themselves have created.
