Android has more than its fair share of keyboards. From the traditional to the gesture-based to the simply absurd, there are more keyboards out there than most could ever hope to try. However, there aren’t that many different classes of keyboards available. They all seem to either be improved traditional keyboards, gesture-based input methods, or gimmicky show-off tools.
XDA Forum Member mayektech created a new keyboard that works in a unique way, with the hopes of making text entry more efficient. No longer do you have to worry about orientation or finger location. Instead, only direction matters. How is this possible? To enter in a letter, there are eight different source directions. After swiping in the proper direction, you then change direction to select the key. While this may seem complicated at first, you will likely implicitly learn the directions list and stop relying on the provided list.
