Every week, we select five questions and answers, found on the forums. Even though some of these questions and answers might not be of help for you, they might still be interesting to read.
Q ‘Is the screen of the HTC HD7 the same as the one found on the HD2?’
A Yes. Some people stated that the HD7 sports a Super LCD screen, but it is just a ‘normal’ TFT LCD screen. Not really normal though, compared to the new screen technologies these days, we’re wondering why HTC chose to include this somewhat outdated screen technology.
Q ‘Is Android really secure to bank on? ‘
A No, it is not completely secure. Especially a rooted phone brings new security risks, because third party applications could get access to everything on your phone, including your password. It also depends on what kind of internet connection you have; a WiFi connection is less reliable than 3G. If you’re not rooted and have a password set up, it should be secure enough, but never it will be completely secure.
Q ‘Can I use Launcher Pro without having HTC Sense running in background on my EVO?’
A Unfortunately you cannot disable HTC Sense, but you can completely uninstall it if you want. You can find more information here.
Q ‘My HD2 often freezes when I perform actions in Sense, but I don’t want to softreset. How can I solve this?’
A We suggest you try a free program called CleanRAM. If you select level 3, it will also restart Sense so you are assured that your HD2 – or any other WM phone – will run smoothly.
Q ‘Why doesn’t my Android phone run as smooth as the iPhone?
A Well, there are several factors causing lag on Android. First of all, it runs a lot more programs than the iPhone. The iPhone immediately kills every app that is closed, but Android doesn’t. Also, iOS does the job good at combining the software with hardware, making it work together. Because of the various devices, Android will never be perfected for one device. Furthermore, iOS offers only simple features – think about the icon grid compared to the widgets of Android – which results in better transitions and a smooth experience.
