It looks like HTC has had their most recent Android devices rooted in a matter of weeks. All the devices from the Taiwanese manufacturer have been officially perm rooted by the combined efforts of many of our devs. First came the G2, closely followed by the Desire HD, then the MyTouch 4G, and finally the Desire Z. The similarities between the hardware of all four devices made it possible to do this as a cumulative effort.

All the excitement over the release of the WP7 devices seems to be well founded, according to reviews, commercials, and more. But how about the dark side of this OS? The underground world of development, cracking, and reverse engineering seems to be slowly approaching to a brick wall of security by Microsoft. Surely, you can remember that not too long ago, XDA member Cotulla posted a video of WP7 booting on an HD2. According to a few sources, some people over at xda.cn seem to have a pretty much fully working port running on the HD2. Real or fake? We are not certain, but the videos show pretty convincing evidence that this is closer to a reality than what many people give it credit for.
