This Week’s Recap is a series of articles, in which we will give you a short recapitulation of the week’s most popular news from the XDA forums.
It has been in the talks for a while now. People have claimed to have seen this pair in a few places but with no tangible evidence. It turns out that we have quite a few skilled spies, or people who have friends who know people among our community. Whatever the case may be, we got an exclusive set of shots of Android Gingerbread (confirmed to be 2.3 and not 3.0 as it was originally stipulated), along with Samsung’s next generation Android device, the Nexus S. Our source indicates that it may have a few more surprises in stock for us, so stay tunned.

This week marked quite a historic point in XDA’s lifetime. We hit a number of registered members that was never even dreamed of a few years ago. We are not certain of the exact reason why, but the site got to th 3 million member mark this past week. It could be due to XDA’s vast source of knowledge, the free apps, the roms, all the devices that we support, or it could be virtually anything. The one things we do know is that we are glad that our little family keeps growing and appreciate all of the cooperation from the member in dealing with such a huge influx of people. It may be time to start thinking about our own national flag…

You may remember a while back that we presented a new device that HTC came up with, the HTC Knight. A few more details have been uncovered by a few sources, and it looks like the device will be a keyboard version of Sprint’s very exclusive HTC EVO. Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, I give you the HTC EVO Shift. If you are a typing jokey and have been waiting for Sprint to release a half decent Android device with a keyboard, your wait seems to be coming to a close.

According to our devs, we should see a version of WP7 being released very soon. However, as there is no free lunch in this life, the OS will work, and quite well I might add, but will not be able to connect to certain online services like Bing, or Live. It is a small hurdle, but once that our devs figure out a way to do this, we will be in cloud 9. Again, please do not ask for delivery times on these.
