Windows Phone 7 Shown Running on HD2 (Video)

Quite possibly what many HD2 owners have been waiting since the announcement of WP7 earlier this year. XDA member Cotulla and DTF seem to have succeeded in booting the long awaited new OS from Microsoft into a device that was said to be completely incapable of running WP7 (both by HTC and Microsoft). The port is far from complete and there is no download, flashing instructions, or anything available at the moment. However, as with many ports, the first step was getting it to boot. Now, let the feature development begin. This is a huge step in the right direction for one of the best Windows Mobile devices that HTC has ever released. Consider this, sometime in the next few months, you could have a device capable of booting into: WM 6.5.x, Android (2.2), Ubuntu, or WP7 (and even Windows XP if you use an emulator), depending on your mood.

Flipout, Flipside, and Bravo Forums Added.

No matter how you see it, Android seems to be spreading out like butter on a hot toast. With that in mind, and considering the ever growing user base for devices wielding this OS, XDA tries to keep up with the times and adds development sections for promising devices. In this case, the trio from Motorola was given an individual home for our members to play in and for support of those who own the devices and don’t know what to do with them.

Easily Run Ubuntu on the EVO

Digging a bit through the most recent breakthroughs in OS porting, we stumbled upon this little jewel that had been buried in the EVO forums for a little while now. The guide describes in a few steps how to easily run the Linux desktop distro known as Ubuntu. If you own an EVO and can’t get enough of “sudo” in your daily diet, then you really want to check out how to do this.
