Tickle My Android Tool Makes Theming a Little Easier

In depth theming is more difficult than many would believe, and dedicated themers often deserve more credit than they get. This is especially true for complete themes that literally change the look of everything. And while a stable ROM is ultimately the most important end goal, having a nice and matching theme is also quite high on the priority list for many users. Themers have enough on their hands compiling and decompiling apk files along with all the stuff they do once the apk is decompiled, so it’s always nice when a new tool comes out to make it just a little easier.
XDA Senior Member Ticklefish has released a Windows command line utility that takes most of the features of the popular APKTool and puts them together in a single interface that’s easier to navigate. The new tool even adds a few new features over what is available in APK Tool. Not only can the app compile and decompile apps, but it can do a whole host of other things as well. It can pull apps from any rooted phone by name or by selection, change the battery icon and animations, add ICS transitions, and push the file back to the Android device—with instructions all along the way for novice users. Requirements are having a rooted phone, a custom recovery, and Windows XP or higher. Once those conditions are met, this can definitely be a powerful tool for themers who need to pull some specific apk files or need to add a few quick things.
