After Android 4.4.3 was released and its source code uploaded to the AOSP, it was only a matter of time before all of its tasty commits would find their way into a large-scale, source-built custom ROM. In most cases and with most multi-device projects, this process takes a considerable amount of time. But now just three days since Android 4.4.3’s initial release, one such project has merged 4.4.3 into its nightlies.
Starting with builds dated 2014-06-05 (#253) onwards, Android 4.4.3 is now integrated into OmniROM. This comes courtesy of XDA Senior Recognized Developer XpLoDWilD who made the merge yesterday morning. As of the writing of this article, the builds are still currently being generated. And at this time, there are currently 13 (of the 52 supported target devices) builds available. But of course, it’s only a matter of time before the rest of the devices receive their updates.
You can read more about the addition over on the OmniROM blog. For those who want to see the merge itself, you can make your way over to the OmniROM Gerrit. And of course, these new nightly builds can be found on OmniROM’s download server. However, those already running Omni need not worry about downloading large images, thanks to the built-in delta OTA updater._________
