Tutorial Helps Users Understand NinePatch PNGs Better

Anyone who has ever created a theme undoubtedly knows about the dreaded NinePatch files. They’re difficult to work with, and often lead to oddly stretched graphics when not used properly. XDA Senior Member Yorzua attempts to make things easier for us by posting an in depth, picture laden tutorial for those who don’t quite understand how they work.
The tutorial requires some software be installed. You’ll need Photoshop or at least Gimp installed as your image editor. Next, you’ll need Draw 9-Patch to help create NinePatch files. Finally, you’ll need a program called xUltimate to compile the 9.png files. The tutorial itself is pretty much straight forward, consisting of easy to understand pictures, which the guide author has edited with directions to be even more useful. The tutorial also includes an explanation of what 9.png files are.
If you’re a budding themer and need to know more, or are just curious how NinePatch PNGs work, you can check out the full tutorial in the original thread.
