Unlock With Wifi Updated And Beefed Up

A while back, you may remember that we published something about an app called Unlock With Wifi created by XDA Recognized Developer Ben74, which essentially removed the need to unlock your device if you are home or anywhere close to a trusted wifi connection, thus saving you some time and allowing you to chill with your unlocked phone. It has been a few months, but the dev finally released a brand new version of this app and decided to load it with a ton of features that will make it even more appealing than the original. The focal point of the update seems to be what the dev called Device Admin (or DA) mode. This mode will still put some security back on the device, but it is more oriented toward battery saving than anything else as it focuses primarily on preventing the device from waking up and staying with the screen on by mistake.
There are other features, but we will leave those for you to discover. If you would like to take this app for a spin, please do so and leave some feedback for the dev in case you run into bugs or have suggestions.
In addition to DA mode, version 2.0 includes these new features:
- Turn on Bluetooth when you leave home – Maybe you use a headset in the car, or you car has a bluetooth hands-free unit.
- Turn off Bluetooth when you get home – Saves battery power
- Turn off Auto Sync when you leave home – Saves battery and reduces your cellular data usage. This is especially useful if you’re on a limited data plan.
- Turn on Auto Sync when you get home – Once you’re on WiFi, you don’t have to worry about data usage.
You can find more information in the app thread.
