Gmail, which has been recently updated online with new features, has also just received some new features for Android users. The new Gmail has added support for things like Priority Inbox and Pushing notifications using the Gtalk service (No more Syncing/Polling). The app is only avaliable for phones running Froyo, Google listed these phones as elegible to receive the update:
- Nexus One
- HTC EVO
- Motorola Droid 2
- Motorola Droid
- (Really any Android Phone Running Froyo)
It has limited support for Google Mails’ new feature “Priority Inbox”, which helps you sort your most important mail from spam, newsletters, and non-urgent emails. It also has added better switching buttons for moving betweens previous and newer messages. Along with that it has added Quoted Text support to see the previous message. Although, this is not a huge update for the app, it is nice to see that they are working on improving it.
This *should* work for any device running Froyo (Stock or Custom) I just tested this on my Motorola Droid running CM6.
You can read more about this update here from the Nexus One Themes and Apps section.
