Viewsonic GTab Overclocked to 1.6 GHz (And Scaled Down to 1.4 Later)

Ahh… the Viewsonic G Tablet. So far, one of the only true contenders to the Motorola Xoom (until the Transformer comes out, that is). This $300 dual core, 10.1 inch tablet has taken the world by storm, particularly because most of its competitors with similar hardware are charging twice as much for their products. In an attempt to make this device sweeter than it already is, XDA member pershoot has been playing around with the kernel and finally got it to a point where the device basically went into hypermode (look for G Gundam to understand the reference). The dev was able to get it to clock at 1.6 GHz, but because of UV being applied, it was scaled down to 1.4 GHz, which is still pretty amazing. The benchmarks run (I know that there are many out there who believe that benchmarks mean nothing) are nothing short of amazing: 57.657 on Linpack, 3088 on Quadrant, and 4433 on Smartbench.
Have you tried this kernel yet? If not, give it a shot and see how you like it. As always, be extra careful when overclocking anything as there is a potential danger for the device to get fried. Have fun!
- overclock to 1.4GHZ (mblaster)
- max bootup clock to 1000 (Cpasjuste)
- min mv: 800, max mv: 1200
- reduce voltages
- update FW for wifi from nvidia to 4.218.248-18

Notes from the Editor: As per the dev, the kernel runs at 1.6 GHz and bench scores are higher. All of these have been updated in the body of the article.
