You all saw the news that came out the other day regarding Google’s latest Gingerbread installment (2.3.4) and that it came bearing the gift of video chat on the infamous GTalk application. The app was extracted a few days ago and made available to the masses but with several bugs, including causing crashes and general instability for other Google apps like the Market. Thanks to the efforts of XDA member XsMagical, we now have a flashable version of this app that is stable enough to use in other devices. Keep in mind this is for 2.3.3, this will at least give the opportunity those people on devices without the 2.3.4 port to test this out and enjoy the ability to do video chatting with everyone (at least those who have G-mail accounts).
The app is far easier to install that it was in the previous incarnation that made it to our Portal. This comes in a flashable zip file, so to install, simply go into recovery and flash the zip. No ADB required. Please share your results if this worked on your device. The thread is currently located in the EVO 4G area, but may work for others as well.
