If you have been drooling over the various FroYo delights such as Wi-Fi tethering that other XDA members have been enjoying since the Android 2.2 release, you’ll be pleased to find out that Wi-Fi tethering is now working for Eclair!
XDA forum member NordicZz, has posted that the clever devs working on the open source android-wifi-tether project have got the hack working on the HTC Desire and EVO 4G.
Root Eclair users should:
- Mount your SDCard
- Create a directory named ‘android.tether.
- Uninstall old versions of wireless_tether.
- Install the latest wireless_tether_2.0.2-pre release apk.
Root is required for this hack and the below disclaimer applies.
