Windows has always had a bittersweet relationship with most of its user base. While it accounts for over 80% of all operating system use worldwide, issues like the Blue Screen of Death and other various bugs annoy users a great deal. There are some devices that can run Windows, but the cool factor soon disappears as those bugs emerge once again.
Even with Windows as problematic as it occasionally is, many users still enjoy the interface. This was the thought process behind a new Android launcher called Windows XP Launcher. XDA Senior Member ognimnella posted about the launcher, and its claim to fame is that it looks like Windows but it isn’t Windows.
After installation, users are treated to a Windows XP-style desktop experience, complete with the Start Menu and Desktop icons. The application is in beta testing currently, so users can expect a few bugs—but this could perhaps make the simulation even more realistic for some.
