Samsung, in an attempt to offer as many tablet choices as possible to consumers, kicked off the US launch of the Galaxy Tab 8.9 in New York city on Tuesday. Chad Hughes from XDA TV was on location to get some hands-on time with the new tablet, which packs a dual-core Tegra 2 1GHz CPU with 1GB of RAM, running on Android 3.2 Honeycomb with Samsung’s Touch UX interface. According to Samsung, the Galaxy Tab 8.9 is the thinnest tablet out there right now, at just over 8mm in diameter. The Galaxy Tab 8.9 is WiFi-only at this point, and will sell for $469 for the 16GB version or $569 for the 32GB version, available from stores like Best Buy.
