The latest official news from SonyEricsson is something a lot of users are going to love. The Xperia X10 will be getting an official Gingerbread update.
A surprise post on the product blog by Rikard Skogberg states they have decided to bring the X10 in line with their upcoming range of android based smartphones by giving it 2.3.3. Furthermore, he states that the reason they have decided this is because of consumers’ requests and the development of the software for the new range has given them a solution that allows them to give us the much requested upgrade.
The planned roll-out will be towards the end of Q2/Beginning of Q3.
However, its not all good news because the X10 Mini, Mini Pro, and the X8 will NOT be receiving the update claiming that they had to prioritize resources and have therefore focused on delivering the upgrade to X10 only.
A few key features will also be missing from the update, and you can find a list of these on the blog.
