ZLaunchy Now Available for Android

A while back, we featured an app in the Portal that was called ZLaunchy for Windows Mobile. The app is a similar concept to Smart Dialer, which basically searches for contacts by typing a series of numbers in a dialer. The app then proceeds to bring the suggestions as more numbers are typed. ZLaunchy did the same but for apps, which is kind of a cool way to launch your apps if you are not too much into scrolling and visually inspecting your Start menu. After a long time, the author of the app, XDA member wojciechka, decided to take this app into the world of Android and has just released the first version of this app. It works just like its WM counterpart by allowing you to find apps by typing in a keypad.
If you are interested in this kind of concept, please drop by the thread, download the app, and provide some feedback to try and improve this.
ZLaunchy was written mainly for those who like the way HTC and other third party dialers allows searching for contacts in a T9-like way – so that finding Adam means choosing 2326 in the phone application. ZLaunchy uses the same idea to run programs on your device.
You can find more information in the application thread.
