noun \ˈkrau̇d-ˌsȯr-siŋ\ : the practice of obtaining needed services, ideas, or content by soliciting contributions from a large group of people and especially from the online community rather than from traditional employees or suppliers
At XDA, you could say we specialize in crowdsourcing. You could even say that we had it perfected before it became hip. Our developers routinely participate in Open Source projects, which epitomize the very definition of crowdsourcing. Therefore, it should come as no surprise that we are seeking your input into something carrying the XDA-Developers brand.
Thanks to CruzerLite, XDA has been selling some great t-shirts and cases at phenomenal prices. In fact, things are going so well that we’ve decided to crowdsource the logo design for the next set of cases and shirts. So here is the deal:
- Submit a logo to firstname.lastname@example.org by midnight (GMT-8) on February 28, 2013.
- You must include your XDA userID in order for us to adequately attribute you to your image
- The logo must be at least 300 dpi and in a recognized vector format (i.e. PNG, PSD, SVG).
- You must utilize at least “xda” in the logo included at the bottom of this post, though it does not need to stay in the same color scheme.
Once all entries have been collected, we will begin the process of voting by opening that up to the community as well. XDA reserves the right to pre-screen entries to make sure that all copyright logos, fonts, names, trademarks, and little ponies are removed. The winner will get their design featured on a special, upcoming batch of cases and shirts at CruzerLite. In addition, CruzerLite will throw in a few extra goodies.
Now let your creative juices flow!
