New “Donate to me” Feature Added to XDA

New “Donate to me” Feature Added to XDA

XDA has always been about sharing. The generous volunteer developers of XDA produce fantastic work then make it available for free to all of our members. While we don’t allow developers to ask for direct payment for their work, as this would be contrary to our efforts to encourage sharing, we allow developers to provide links within their signatures that allow thankful users to make a small donation.

We’ve now made it a little bit easier for developers to accept donations by allowing those that are interested to have a more visible “donate to me” button placed near their avatar, as seen in the attached (we might tweak the design of the button further). Activating the button is super easy. Just go into your XDA control panel, hit Edit Details, and scroll to the bottom where you see the space for your PayPal email address. If you leave this blank, you will have no button, or you can add your PayPal address and the new button will appear. This button will then directly link to PayPal.com with your donation email already entered in.

Again, we hope that this new feature helps to bring more donations to the developers of XDA that work painstakingly to bring all of us their terrific work.
