Google released a short review of the changes in the latest version of WebView. Android WebView is a system component for Android allows Android apps to display content from the web directly inside an application.

The Unicode Consortium has officially announced Unicode 10. The new version adds 8,518 characters including 56 new emoji characters, a set of four new scripts, and new symbols. Currently, the standard consists of a whopping total of 136,690 characters.

If you are familiar with GNU/Linux-based operating systems, you have almost certainly heard of Wine. This great project allows you to run Windows applications without the need of installing a virtual machine. The Lenovo Moto Z2 Play was only recently released to consumers, and already XDA Recognized Developer Santhosh M has been able to port TWRP 3.1.1 to the device.

In order to make Android boot on most hardware platforms, developers usually have to mix open-source code with proprietary files. These so-called blobs are distributed by vendors to support some platform-specific features. Robert Foss from Collabora reported that is now possible to boot Android on i.MX6 platforms without the use of proprietary blobs at all.

Over the years, Google has released many open-sourced projects to aid developers in coding for their platforms. One such project is called Blockly, an open source library for building drag-and-drop visual editors for a multitude of programming languages. With the Blockly library, it uses a visual set of interlocking blocks that you can drag and drop to output syntactically proper code in the language of your choice. Now, it is available on Android and iOS. Blockly for Android is a developer preview that offers standard Android views and fragments in Blockly's editor.
