Bring the Latest Google Doodle to Your Device’s Home Screen

I’m sure most of you are familiar with Google’s famous doodles, which are used to jazz up the classic Google logo in recognition of everything from public holidays and notable peoples birthdays to just about anything else they see fit to celebrate. The problem is that most of us these days simply search from the address bar of our browser or dedicated search widget on the home screen of our mobile device. Thus, we might miss some of these wonderful little works of art. Wouldn’t it be great if you could encapsulate the current doodle in a widget for easy viewing?

Google Doodle Widget from XDA Senior Member emprize allows you to do just that and a little more. Opening up the application itself displays the current doodle and allows you to search Google. It also offers you the chance to look back at previous doodles that you may have missed. As the name suggests, you can also place the current doodle on your home screen in widget form. Tapping on it launches the app, and allows you to search. It’s not quite as efficient as the traditional search icon, but it sure is a whole lot prettier. There’s also the option to set the day’s doodle as a notification that you can then swipe away when you get bored of seeing it.

Head on over to the original thread for more information if you’re a fan of these quirky little doodles.
