Ultimate control over our devices is what we all struggle to obtain here on XDA-Developers. Microsoft has done an amazing job in making sure that this does not happen for owners of Windows Phone 7 devices (some of them anyways) by implementing security measure on top of security measure, and all this in the name of data privacy, protection to the end user, and protection of IP. Our devices are built to last long and hopefully survive minor to moderate abuse. After all, we tend to bump into tables, walls, people, and many things while our phones are in our pockets. Yahoo—I believe you may have heard of the former search engine giant from late last century(?)—is evidently looking to get into the mobile landscape that has left them behind. They have open-sourced their Mojito framework, which is based in JavaScript, and allows developers to leverage client- and server-side computation to hopefully achieve great performance on any device, from Android to Windows Phone.

Windows Phone 7 development has been slowly, but steadily, increasing as the platform gains popular. It almost comes as no surprise that once again, the HTC HD2 has received yet another major development update, this time along with the Samsung Omnia 7. Development team XDA-Devs Europe brings us a world exclusive—the first custom ROMs based on the forthcoming Windows Phone 7 update, codenamed ‘Tango’, officially knows as ‘Windows Phone 7.5 Refresh’. Tango is said to bring a number of improvements to Windows Phone 7.5, including lower RAM requirements and MMS improvements.
