Control your PS3 with BlueputDroid for Android

While the PlayStation 3’s integrated Bluetooth radio is great for connecting controllers and headsets, it also allows for control using an Android device if the drivers have been created. Using XDA member berserker_devel‘s BlueputDroid application, which is currently available in the Market as a free public beta, it is possible to establish a connection between your phone and your PS3, so that your phone can be used as an input device. Its touch screen may be used to control a cursor and either the software or hardware keyboard to input text.

Considering that Bluetooth keyboards and mice can be pretty expensive, this is a great alternative option and potentially makes browsing the internet on your PS3 a much easier process.

Not all devices will work with the app but it is definitely worth checking out the project thread to see if yours is on the list. There, you’ll also find a download link and more information about the app, along with videos of it in operation.
