Be it from bloggers, political institutions or corporations, Android is seemingly not open enough. The “War on Openness” is ironically becoming an open war, where many players are increasing their stakes and scope to try and land a bigger hold - or at the very least, restrict Google’s - on what is the world’s...
Cyanogen Signal Fix With Instructions
For those of you who are running Cyanogen’s nightly, and have been experiencing the signal issues, there’s a fix for you, courtesy of XDA forum member theimpaler747.
The fix gives you more visual bars, since on the default ROM, the max amount of bars that will show up, even with great signal strength, is 3. With this fix, you will have the full 4 bars and hence a more accurate indication of signal.
The zip fixes the visual signal on Cyanogen and all AOSP ROMS. However, note that is should not be flashed if you are running a theme on top of FroYo.
You’ll also need Metamorph (available free from the Market). To download the zip and try out the fix, head on over to the forum thread.

Google seems to have learned from their mistake the last time around, and earlier this week, a significant update was released for the Material Design guidelines, marking the second revision in less...
