Without further introduction, we continue with the second part of this interview with XDA Recognized Developer capychimp; in case you missed it, part one can be found here.
orb3000: What were the main obstacles you found during the process of cooking the first Kingdom Sense 3.0 version?
capychimp: the main thing was the mic, no matter what I did I could not get non HTC apps to work, until some friendly user, who I sadly forgot the name of, gave me a hint on libaudio.so, rmk and I thought it was all ok using the one from kingdom cause of the hardware and so, but there was a slight change anyways and got fixed with changing the lib to one made for Desire HD, and then of course making things look good, but now we kinda got the hang of it .
orb3000: You are also well known for giving great (almost real time) support for members using your ROMs, how do you manage?
capychimp: well, I try to give the support I can, I get great tips and suggestions all the time, so only fair to share back, lucky I have a job where I can use a lot of time on xda if things are working at my job I actually do nothing (great job hehe) but sometimes I take a break on a day or two to kinda get head cleared, but it is a lot of work and time, and wife is not always happy about it.
orb3000: We know you are on version 1.7 or your Kingdom series, what are the bugs/fixes/problems yet to be solved on future versions?
capychimp: still some sizing issues, SRS is still an annoying thing, but we got it on a temp fix by music player from Desire HD Gb Sense 2.1.
orb3000: Do you think you are close to get a final version? If so, when we can expect it?
capychimp: I don’t think there ever would be a final version, well unless HTC release Sense 3 then it’s just to mod a stock ROM, many Chefs do that so question is if I would do it too, I mean anyone can mod a stock ROM and have a great ROM, theme it and be popular, but what’s the fun in that? The fun is porting something not meant to work on your device, so on Kingdom there would probably always be something, a lot of users on xda so always one who finds something, but I think once SRS, video playback switching between land and portrait fixed we are close on something like a final.
With this question we close the second part of this interview and we hope you are enjoying it so far. If so, please let us know what you would want us to ask on the third and last part.
