I know that we do not normally write about iPhone news, and we also know that many deem the iPhone 4S to be a proverbial failure since before being launched. However, this morning we received an e-mail from a source who asked to remain anonymous with an internal memo stating that the iPhone 4S would get unlimited data, much unlike its Verizon and AT&T counterparts where data is either limited (capped) or throttled. Well, out of the “big 4″ Sprint is the only one who still offers unrestricted unlimited data and they are using this business model on the new addition to their family.
This move was expected by many as it was the obvious course of action, seeing how AT&T and Verizon limit the amount of data that the users can have access to. The price plan tiers will remain the same as for the other devices where you get the choice of 450, 900, or unlimited minutes (all three with unlimited data, SMS, MMS, etc) for $79.99, $99.99, and $109.99 respectively (all of these have the $10 charge for premium data added on them). The best part is that unless you are calling land lines, you will not have to worry about your minutes even in the lowest minute plan as mobile-mobile is included to call any cell phone regardless of carrier.
It is quite a sweet deal and the business model behind it may be the only thing that will drive the sales of the iPhone 4S as the device will not share in the launch success its predecessors enjoyed. Well, all we can say is kudos to Sprint for coming up with this plan and best of luck selling this.
