Starting this coming week, Sprint will be announcing a change in their Service and Repair department. Thanks to our source that will remain unnamed, we have access to exclusive information on this change. People who have TEP (Total Equipment Protection) will receive better benefits and will have to pay less if their phone breaks. If in warranty and with no TEP, these are the features you receive:

• Free software upgrades
• Repair or Exchanges for 35$ due to:
  • Mechanical Electrical Error
  • Normal Wear and Tear
  • Missing Components
  • Cracked Housing/LCD
  • Broken Hinge/Port/Lenses

For those who are not under TEP and have such issues as a damaged circuit board, liquid damage/corrosion, a smashed device in 3+ parts, or a stolen/lost device they will either have to Upgrade or purchase a new device at MSRP.

But for those under TEP they will receive better service. Under the $7 a month plan you will receive the following:

• Free software upgrades
• Repair or Exchanges for Free due to:
  • Mechanical Electrical Error
  • Normal Wear and Tear
  • Missing Components
  • Cracked Housing/LCD
  • Broken Hinge/Port/Lenses
• a $50/$100 Claim via Asurion (Insurance Provider) for Damaged beyond repair devices such as ones with a damaged circuit board, liquid damage/corrosion, or a smashed device in 3 or more pieces. And anyone with a lost or stolen device will also get the same above $50/$100 Claim via Asurion.
