Xda-Developers is a great source of information. Part of the reason for this is the general attitude of the members here. Websters Dictonary defines community as “joint ownership or participation.” By working as a community, the members of XDA have been able to come up with answers to some of the most difficult questions posed in the mobile world. Part of my job as a XDA News Writer is to find those answers and provide them to you in a quick and easy to follow manner. Please join me for another addition of The Weekly Q&A.
Q. I want to flash a rom…Does that wipe my paid applications? If it does then is there a way to back them up and restore them on the new rom? [Android][Original Thread]
A. You can use titanium backup to backup and restore them if you are rooted. Otherwise you can always re -download them from the market for free
Q. How do I get/send a Google+ invite?
A. Google+ doesn’t have a dedicated Invite feature. Only way to invite is to share a Google+ post with people to be invited. When you see link to a shared item, click “comment on the post” and when you are on the page for the post, please click Join Google+ link. Google keeps opening & closing registrations even for those invited. If you get an error that system is overloaded, check back to the invite in a few minutes.
If you want an invite, visit the Google+ invites thread for more information.
Q. How can I change the pic of my profile and how do I earn points? [Original Thread]
A. At the top right up there^^ where it says “user cp”, then choose “edit avatar”. Pick a photo and upload, you will be good to go.
You earn “thanks” by being helpful to people and answer their questions. See the “thanks” button on my post here.? If my post was helpful to you, click the “thanks” button. That will add a ‘point’ to your profile. So the more you share and the more helpful you are.. the more opportunity you have to earn “thanks” from the community.
Q. How do you delete an account here?
A. PM MikeChannon and ask him to remove your account.
Q. Why cant I post questions in the Development fora?
A. Developmental fora are there to release your own creations…Guides and tutorials are usually allowed but by definition do not belong there. Everything else does NOT belong there (questions (NOT about development either), news, links to someone else’s development). Basically, if you did not create “it”, then doesn’t belong in development.
Proceed for more information on the “ten post count limit“.
That wraps up another edition of The Weekly Q&A. If there is something you feel may be “newsworthy” or you would like to share a solution that you came across, please PM myself, or any other News Writer.
