Huawei's sub-brand is set to expand its lineup of affordable flagships with the upcoming Honor 20 and the Honor 20 Pro. The duo will be revealed in London on the 21st of this month and while there's limited information available so far, we recently learned that the Pro variant will feature a hole-punch display. In the meantime, Honor has already announced the Lite variant in the Honor 20 series much before the launch and it comes with a sleek design, tiny dew-drop notch, triple cameras, and a price of £249.

The Honor 20 Lite is powered by a HiSilicon Kirin 710 chipset along with 4GB of RAM. On the front, there's a 6.21-inch FullView display with a resolution of 2340 x 1080 and 90% screen-to-body ratio. The smartphone features a 128GB internal storage along with an expansion slot. The back of the smartphone features a gradient design which resembles other Huawei smartphones like the Mate 20 series or the Nova 3/3i.

For photography, the Honor 20 Lite features triple cameras which include a 24MP primary sensor, an 8MP wide-angle sensor for a wide 120-degree view, and a 2MP depth sensor for a bokeh effect. To build on top of the triple camera setup, the AI algorithm present on Honor 20 can optimize scenes by recognizing up to 500 scenarios. For night photography, there's a Super Night Mode which allows clicking of smooth images even without the use of a tripod. For selfies, the Honor 20 Lite is furnished with a 32MP sensor on the front and the onboard AI automatically retouches your selfies by judging your age, skin tone, and gender.

The Honor 20 Lite is rocking EMUI 9 (mega review) on top of Android 9.0 Pie but we can expect it to be updated to EMUI 9.1, just like a slew of other Huawei and Honor devices. As for the battery, previous leaks had pointed towards a 3,400mAh battery with no mention of fast charging, but the information has been skipped from Honor's press announcement. We do know for sure that the smartphone comes with a micro USB port and not USB-C. We'll update the article after we've learned about the exact specification of the battery.

As for its availability, the Honor 20 Lite can be bought in the UK starting May 15 for £249 (~290 euro) via Carphone Warehouse, Amazon, Argos, John Lewis, Very, and AO. We also expect it to be announced in other parts of Europe soon after.

Note: Huawei has stopped providing official bootloader unlock codes for its devices. Therefore, the bootloaders of their devices cannot be unlocked, which means that users cannot root or install custom ROMs.
