Amidst all the announcements ongoing at CES 2016, NVIDIA has announced that Konami's critically acclaimed title, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is making its way to the SHIELD Android TV.

This will the be the first time the widely loved PC and Console game will be playable on Android. The game is expected to make full use of the performance capabilities of the Tegra X1 processor in the SHIELD Android TV, engaging users through the eyes of Raiden and bringing to them all the familiar elements of the Metal Gear game series (those that don't involve stealth, anyway) like the action sequences, kickass soundtrack and boss fights.

The game is arriving on NVIDIA SHIELD on January 7th, 2016.

NVIDIA also took the opportunity to announce new additions to the app ecosystem for Android TV, namely UltraFlix: an app that boasts of the world's largest 4K content library, allowing subscribers to stream a lot of on-demand content in 4K Ultra HD.

What's more, Android 6.0 Marshmallow is also making its way to the SHIELD Android TV. This is significant news as users of the SHIELD TV will now be able to make use of Android 6.0 Marshmallow's Adoptable Storage feature. This will allow them to use external storage devices like sd cards or even hard drives as internal memory. Android 6.0 Marshmallow on the NVIDIA SHIELD Android TV will also seek to enhance the startup process, attempting to make it easier and faster to access your content on a cold boot.
