Llama for Android Automatically Sets Ringer Profiles
XDA member Kebab3000‘s handy location-aware application, Llama, makes use of time and location data to automatically change your ringer according to preset parameters. For example, the ringer volume and can be reduced or silenced completely and the vibrate level can be programmed to change at quiet times during your day. Without having to worry about changing it yourself, you can have your phone on silent at night, vibrate at work and a normal profile when you’re at home in the evening.
The developer would like to put emphasis on the fact that the application is going to stay light-weight and simple, which can be very useful if it’s running in the background. However, Llama’s features span further than just your phone’s ringer. You can also manipulate the times at which your phone checks for emails and have it automatically switch Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on and off.
Another interesting point to note about Llama is the fact that it used no data whatsoever – the developer has cleverly programmed it to use the IDs of phone masts in the locations you have set.
If you would like to give Llama a try, search for it in the Market. More information is available in the application thread.
