Although it was first announced back at the Big Android BBQ only last yearOmniROM has grown into a tremendously large-scale project with a talented team of developers, dozens of supported devices, and an immense number of devoted fans. With developers like XDA Developer Admin pulser_g2, Senior Recognized Developers XpLoDWilDEntropy512 and Dees_Troy, and many other big names in the Android world, as well as quite a few innovative advancements, it's no surprise that the ROM has amassed quite a loyal following in such a short time.

Now, OmniROM has officially become the first large-scale custom ROM distribution to merge and successfully boot Android 5.0 Lollipop. Much of the merging work was done by XpLoDWilD. The initial boot was performed with the Nexus 7-2013 (flo). Naturally, there are quite a few bugs to work out, so developers should hold off on trying to sync, but everything is getting sorted out and there will certainly be quite a lot of additional commits in the very near future to patch the remaining bugs.
