Perm Root and First Custom ROMs for HTC One X

It’s hard to remember a time when there was such excitement over a new device as now with the newly launched HTC One X. The section is on fire, and many lucky members already have their devices in hand. Others, such as yours truly, are still waiting for the mailman to knock on our doors.

For those lucky enough to already have the device in hand, we now have root, recovery, and custom ROM. According to XDA Forum Member paulobrien, there is no official ClockworkMod recovery available, so in the meantime, he created an interim unofficial CWM Touch release that allows one to aquire permanent root. It is important to note that for this process, one must be unlocked via htcdev. Custom ROMs have also shown up, with XDA Forum Members mike1986.monx®, and Adjust bringing us the first tastes.

Continue on to the root and recovery threads. Next, head over to the first cstom ROMs for the device: Android RevolutionROMeOS, and Razer ROM by mike1986.monx®, and Adjust respectively.

The game industry has been around for decades, catering to a wide spectrum of people, young gamers and elder ones, casual gamers and serious ones, and for an industry with such specifications, innovation isn't the only fuel for success. An increasingly large number of games draw inspiration from another and build on top of that idea, and Tactile is one such product, an excellently executed brainchild of a mashup between Tetris and 2048. We tinker and tweak by customizing every corner for endless hours, until we arrive at a comfortable software configuration. In contrast, a large chunk of Android users don’t even use a different launcher - and many don’t know what a launcher is in the first place!   When we get so involved in our...
