Skype 2 Available For Other Devices!

Well, it really didn’t take too long. It was only yesterday that Skype 2 with video became available on a certain number of devices. This has caused our hacking community to wonder why the good people at Skype are doing this. So, in the spirit of our beloved community, the app was cracked open and much to our surprise, an array containing the names of the devices in which the app would be usable was found. Needless to say, once the culprit for preventing things from happening was found, it took only a few more minutes to prepare a fix for the app, so that the desired video calling would work on other devices as well. Courtesy of XDA moderator and Recognized Developer pulser_g2, we now have a working version of Skype 2 on the Samsung Galaxy S 2. According to the dev, the app should work on other devices as well. I can personally confirm that it works over 3G on the EVO 4G.

Please try it out in your devices and report back if it works for you.

Fancy video skype anyone?

In this episode of XDA TV, Producer TK reviews the RAVPower RP-WD02 Wireless Filehub & Portable Travel Router. This device is the successor to the RP-WD01...

A Look at the Telegram+ Situation

Most of this article doesn't only apply to Telegram+ -- it just happens to be an example that got a lot of coverage elsewhere, with many authors or commentators putting the full blame on Google, Telegram, the Telegram+ developer or even WhatsApp Inc (eh?). Multi Boot: The Fall of Nandroid?

Ever since custom recoveries and roms became popular, nandroid backups have been the fall back method for all android enthusiasts, irrespective of their confidence levels. They allow easy backup and restore in case things go wrong, which happens invariably when a modification is being tested. With that being said, how relevant are Nandroid Backups to this day? Back in 2011, when the world of Android was being awed by the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S2, a little modification made its appearance...
