Android is such a popular operating system that people have used it on many different types of devices (not just smartphones and tablets). Getting Android on the PC is something that has been quite popular with programs such as GenyMotionAndroid X86, AnboxConsole OS, and Remix OS. Some of these have failed and moved on while others have gained quite the enthusiast following. BlueStacks was founded back in 2009 by Jay Vaishnav, Suman Saraf, and Rosen Sharma. It has become the go-to solution for getting Android installed and working a computer, and now version 4 of the program includes a massive performance upgrade.

Running Android on your standard "traditional" computer is nothing new. After all, there's the Android x86 project, which allows users to natively run Android on their standard desktop-architecture x86 computers. There are other solutions for getting Android onto your PC as well, such as Genymotion and Jar Of Beans.
