There are plenty of iPhone looking skins out there for Android. This is for the kind of people that love to show how their Android devices can easily be turned into iPhone looking hardware and flaunting about how the inverse cannot be done. Well, if you are among these people and love to get functionality and smoothness, you should check out what XDA member amitmiz while browsing through the MIUI forums. Apparently, the member came across a rom for the Desire and the Legend, which includes enough apps to make it look and feel like an iPhone 4 right after flashing. It seems that due to popular demand, the creator of the apps decided to release them as standalone apps with no dependencies on a specific framework. The end result is the ability to install these apps on any rom for any device. Pretty neat if you are into this.
The available apps include the launcher, calculator, weather, compass, and a few others which only seem to be available in the rom. One last thing, the whole thing is in Chinese, so if you can help with the translation to other languages, it would be much appreciated. Enjoy and leave your thoughts.
…it called Aedesgin ROM, it is actually iOS rom.. (only for HTC Legend and Desire)
However, the developer have released apps that dont need the rom’s framework so they can work on any phone..

One of the biggest hurdles in development of pda devices (and virtually any device that has an operating system in it) is the unlocking process. Things not always go according to plan, and we end up with devices that are as useful as paperweights or bricks. Some of these “bricks” are more “bricked” than others as they cannot be returned to life by simply doing a few tricks. In fact, in many cases, some of these full bricks tend to be irreparable or only reparable via hardware manipulation (JTAG).
The “semi-bricks” normally don’t go past a certain point after booting, but these can be repaired by following certain steps. For the HTC Legend, it seems that it was a common occurrence to be stuck in USB debug mode after messing around with recovery. To solve people’s lives, XDA member ilos has posted a guide that he found on modaco, which happened to be a joint development between modaco and XDA developers. The guide is fairly easy to follow, but you need knowledge on a few subjects and you also need to be rooted for this to work.
First of all many thanks to IEFtm from Modaco forum for the solution and the how to !!
Here a copy/paste of instructions with some additions ( i can’t be more clear than him )
/!\ IMPORTANT /!\ : only your device will see your sdcard before the end of the unbrick process !!!
As most of you know, people have been hard at work to fix the USB issues we’ve been seeing due to recovery setting us into USB debugmode.
You can find the full guide in the tutorial thread.

The HTC Legend, out of the box, doesn’t support the Live Wallpaper feature that can be found on the Nexus One, the Desire, or the EVO 4G. XDA developer rodigezstyle however created a hack, which enables this great looking feature. The hack only works for rooted HTC Legends, and only experienced users should try this. If you’re new to Android development, please try to search and read first to avoid making costly mistakes. Installation must be done via recovery mode, so you actually have to flash the hack to your device.

- full OpenGL Support !!!
- a Live Wallpaper fitted Rosie.apk
- Original Sense Live Wallpaper (LWP)
- all Nexus One preinstalled LWP
- Starfield LWP
The OpenGL support is a nice addition because it makes everything much smoother. Credits for the OpenGL mod go to zifnab, jcase & MagnusRagnarok.
Today, HTC released a new firmware update for the HTC Legend. It’s updated to version 2.03.403, and the new firmware seem to offer a lot of cool new things:
There will probably be some more changes, but these are the few XDA member miguelsantos1979 listed up for us.
The FOTA (Firmware Over The Air) update is also downloadable to flash from the PC, and is now available in the Legend forums. There isn’t much information available about this new update yet, but we expect to see more feedback soon. A goldcard might be required to flash it.
Update: To install the ROM, you might need to have a ‘goldcard’; for more information and troubleshooting see post #10 in the ROM thread.
Further enhancements to the ROM are new widgets.
At Mobile World Congress HTC announced two new Android devices, the Desire and Legend. The Desire is similar in a lot of ways to the Google Nexus One, except that it adds more RAM, the Sense interface, and an optical trackball. The Legend, on the other hand, is the successor to the HTC Hero. New is a cut-from-aluminum design (be sure you watch John Wong prove the device’s rigidity when he slams the Legend against the wall at the HTC Press conference at 11:37), plus more RAM, a faster CPU, and the latest version of Sense for Android. By popular request, we’ve added general forums for the HTC Legend and HTC Desire. Enjoy!
