Remember how we told you guys that after the SDK for Honeycomb was released, that our devs would get down and dirty trying to port it to other devices? Well, among the myriad of devices that are already running ports of this OS, we now see a couple of small shinning beacons from the not so distant past, refusing to give up. XDA member zFr3eak with the help of XDA moderator yohshua have managed to get a working port of Honeycomb on both T-Mobile G1 and HTC Magic (aka MyTouch 3G). Like most Honeycomb ports out there, the OS is just for show as most needed features are non functional. However, as a proof of concept, it is rather worth it to see that the investment on most old devices was not a waste. They packed quite a punch back then, and still do.
The project has been a dual release, so you may find quite a few similarities between both ports. If you feel adventurous, or if you are simply interested to see how Honeycomb looks like (without having to spend $800 on a Xoom), take this for a spin and provide some feedback for the devs.
