Just in time for the new year, the MyTouch 4g Slide gets their first taste of Ice Cream Sandwich. XDA Senior Member tbalden has ported HTC Pyramid ICS ROM framework along with an HTC Doubleshot kernel and rolled it all up into some ICS goodness.

As with most Ice Cream Sandwich builds currently out, it is an alpha release which means there’s a plethora of problems. Here’s the list of things not currently working:

- Camera
- FM radio
- Accelerometer
- Keyboard light
- USB storage doesnt work
- tethering
- Notification led

Thankfully, though, the big features do still work, including:

- Call voice, SMS, (havent tried MMS, please check someone)
- Keyboard, hw keyboard rotation, softkeyboard when slided back — only with the fixes flashed found in the UPDATES part, this post.
- 3D
- SMP architecture (Scoring 59 FPS on nenamar2 here on stock speed)
- Audio
- WiFi
- Mobile data
- Bluetooth (at least i’ve tested BT stereo audio and avrc)
- SDCard
- Market

Now, this is just a regular old AOSP build and not a CyanogenMod9 release (we can forgive you..this time), so it’s bereft of CM9 features as well and with the issues aforementioned and it may not be ready for daily driver material just yet. However, if all you need is a working keyboard, phone, SMS, data and sound then you can find the download links, a full change log and a full list of features and issues here in the original thread.

An anonymous tipster has sent us several pictures of HTC’s presumed upcoming flagship phone, the HTC Pyramid. According to these shots, the powerhouse Pyramid is confirmed to have a dual-core 1.2GHz processor with 768MB of RAM. It will come running on Android 2.3.2 Gingerbread with the latest Sense 3.0. The screen looks to be 4.3″, and is qHD 960×540 resolution. On the back there is an 8MP camera which probably can record in 1080p, plus a front-facing camera that can do VGA shots. If this phone so far seems like the HTC EVO 3D but without the 3D, you’re right. Click on to see more pictures of the HTC Pyramid! READ ON »
