If you have a Rhodium, you must be aware of the lack of HD quality on Youtube. Well, now thanks to XDA member Wild Child that problem is fixed. We normally do not cover ROMs on our articles but this time due to the importance of the fix included on the developer´s work, we thought it would be worth pointing it out. Four different ROM´s can be found on the original thread and all of them having HD Youtube fixed. This is one of the first cooks including it and sure other developers will follow suit, so no more complaining about the bad video quality on your device!.
As always, please leave your feedback.

We love our hobbies, whether it be sports, electronics, or both. What better way to show the combined loved than by merging one into the other? XDA member lnando84 shares his creations for all NFL fans out there. The dialer skins feature your favorite NFL team logo in the background as well as re-designed number buttons to match the style. These are only good for WVGA devices like the HD2 and Touch pro 2, running Windows Mobile 6.5 and up. Please do not try to install them in devices with lower resolutions as they will mess up your device, likely forcing you to reflash your current rom or performing a hard reset. He has also included some extra dialpads for those of you who live with the Christmas spirit, as well as a few miscellaneous ones for those with a need to simply change the look into something less fan-ish.
Please leave some feedback and maybe some requests if you have any.
I want to start off by saying I’m a HUGE Philadelphia Eagles Football Fan!! I have a thread in the TP2 themes and apps section for NFL dialpads skins I’ve made for all 32 teams over the past few months. I’ve been asked/told I should start a thread here for all my dialpad skins because they also work on the HD2. I’ll be adding preview’s as well as download links to them below. Let me know if anyone runs into any problems when running these. I’ll also try taking on a few requests so let me know what you guys are thinking..

How about a Windows Mobile article for a change? XDA member poyensa posted a great tutorial explaining how to create or edit any Cookie Home Tab 2.0 widget. Basically, the original poster compiled the how to´s including quotes from developers but on a simpler way to understand the whole process of editing/creating widgets. The guide also includes an extensive, and very well documented, way to solve most common problems. You will find a section where you can create your own widget as well.
The developer invested a considerable amount of time on this compilation and surely your feedback will be well received. Olé!

I have no previous formation in programs or informatic code but i could make a few widgets(*) and I would like to share this experience with you. This is not so altruistic work, I am expecting a huge amount of widgets made by all of you to install and enjoy in my brand-repaired HD2
Co0kie Master has allready published a guide for making a CHT widget (it is into the widgets kitchen); also Genius_Rat_2665 has made a tutorial for making a cht clock widget, so -the third time lucky- lets bring here all that knowledge and try to make a simple widget step-by-step. Also this could be a good place to share and learn each other some code for widgets. Things like how to make an blinking element, how to change number in text, how to read from the registry, etc.
(*) What is for sure is that no one widget I could ever do without the help of others. Lets start quoting the existing Co0kie’s guide

While the Android ports that have been around for some time now for older Windows Mobile devices, such as the Blackstone, Raphael and Touch Diamond, and the fact that they have been fun to play around with, the feature most sorely missed from such ports is camera functionality.
Despite the ever-stabilising and speedier builds, this has been the most notable omission from the ports, which includes the popular XDANDROID project so far.
However, a few developers over on the HTC Raphael (Touch Pro) side of the forums have got some experimental drivers working, which should allow for the use of the camera on several Windows Mobile devices when running Android. The work is regularly updated and is currently confirmed to improve the situation on the Blackstone (Touch HD), Rhodium (Touch Pro2), Raphael (Touch Pro), Diamond (Touch Diamond) and Topaz (Touch Diamond2). However, potential users should note that specific variants of these devices may not currently be catered for.
To give the camera a try in your favourite Android port, follow the instructions in the project thread.
If you want to be able to change the clock speed of your Windows Mobile device CPU, check out XDA forum member iwfratz‘s application, WiMoSpeed.
The app manipulates the values WM uses for clock control, so it works reliably on battery and AC without any scripting or active components.
It depends on CPU-hardware, as well as radio and OS ROM since the dev could not get WM to switch the clock reliably on request. So, WiMoSpeed switches the clock registers itself upon setting a new speed.
For more information and to download the cab file, head on over to the application thread.
XDA member petititi updated his app to version 1.5.3d. For those who don´t know, QuickShutdown is an application to turn off, restart or set to sleep your Windows Mobile device but without the need of .Net framework and because of that it is very fast and responsive. Updated version corrects some bugs, adds a short power button feature and let you choose if you want to lock device when screen goes off.

All resolution are supported (for QVGA, the pictures are resized) and lanscape is as smooth as portrait (thank’s to the new version of Manila SDK) !
The graphics are all stored in the \resources\VGA\ folder and you can change them at will.
You will find the available languages in the \resources\lang\ folder, but you can create your own file (add any files in this folder). To enable your chosen language, use the configuration tool and select your language file!
With the configuration tool, you can also modify the words directly by clicking!
Don’t hesitate to post here your language file! Updated lang can be found here: http://charlie-soft.com/Software/Man…esources/lang/
Becareful: you have to save your file with Unicode encoding !
For graphic modification, you can download the pack created by lesscro or this one created by anhphe076.

XDA member gromky presents the basic steps to get simplified Chinese working on Rhodium. This was tested on Energy ROMs but should work on any other. According to the developer, many other options are available around but they seem to be more complicated or having serious issues.
Three steps must be done to have it working: install fonts, install input method, and Change system default font. To avoid unwanted behavior, be sure to read all the installation instructions and all apps must be installed on main memory to ensure proper display.

Simplified Chinese Input (official HTC version)
I had a terrible time getting simplified Chinese to work on my Touch 2 Pro. I tried everything. Finally I had a solution. I will share it with everyone because it was so much trouble for me.
Everyone will tell you to go to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=700311 and follow the instructions there. No, this is only for traditional Chinese input! The fonts are OK but the input is not suitable.
Next, everyone will tell you to download Sogou, QQ, A4, or other Chinese input method. This is not suitable! Why? Because these applications interfere with the keyboard of Touch Pro 2. With some, the shift key did not work and I couldn’t write capital letters. With others, the FN keys did not work (symbols like ;:’& were remapped to other keys!) One of them remapped the entire keyboard, making text unusable! I needed the official HTC input. After hours of searching, I finally found a version that works. Download from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=693907. It says it is for a specific model of phone, but it works fine on mine. The only problem is that the soft keyboard is squashed while the keyboard is pulled out, but if the keyboard is out, no need to use the soft keyboard.
My steps to get simplified Chinese working on Energy rom. This should work under any other rom as well
As we all know, the GTX UI is very popular and many applications have been skinned to fit on the same style. Now, XDA Member Mr. Makk presents a nice skin for swipe keyboard.
Despite this being the first release and as developer says “there is room for a lot of improvement but it will be done one by one”, this nice skin is worth to try, and if you like it please leave feedback so future versions can be improved.

This timer, created by XDA member Toolmaker was specially made for those who regularly do meditation. Set the desired time and forget about everything. Timer will let you know with a soft relaxing tone when the previously set time has expired, so you can leave that activity and slowly return to every day world.
Created on a Rhodium, this application works on Windows Mobile devices running 6 and up with WVGA resolution.

[APP] Meditation Timer [v0.1 alpha]
I recently picked up my habit of meditating again, and found it rather difficult to meditate for a while without losing track of time or reaching my intended quiet time.
Thus, I have developed MeditationTimer for this. A very simple 1 screen timer that allows you to set the number of minutes you wish to meditate and start it. When the sound option is selected it will play a sound after finishing and go back to the start screen.
Looking for some feedback on how the GUI works and scales on various phones, as it’s my first WM application ever. Developed on a HTC Touch Pro 2 running Windows Mobile 6.5

For Windows Mobile devices still using WM6 or 6.1, XDA member MacDegger presents this app launcher as an alternative to the scroll list ones. You have the chance to put in your preferred background.
Designed with simple graphics, this tool will let you organize your most used programs.
This tool was tested on Blackstone but should work for other WVGA resolution devices as well.

[APP][2010/07/02]AppGrouper, a simple catagorised app launcher
I’m a longtime lurker, ever since I got my Touch HD when it first came out and I NEEDED to have an english rom instead of a dutch one. Thanks to this place, my phone runs exactly how I want it to (most of the time :P).
Except for a decent app launcher. I HATE the win6/6.1 scrollist ones, allthough the startmenu after that sucked a little less. I liked the yotacenter launcher, but in the end I just ran out of space and had to hit the “all apps” button too often and scroll through a huge list.
So I wrote my own in c# under .net 3.5.

Finally, the free tool that lots of users have been waiting for! XDA member NetRipper has been working on a project for overclocking the Raphael and he successfully increased the clock speed up to 710MHz. Since the Raphael uses the same processor as the Rhodium, the Diamond, and the Topaz, a lot of users will benefit from this great tool.
This well finished UI will let you under or overclock by simply moving the slider.
Be warned, this tool can damage your device so use it at your own risk and please read instructions carefully.

After LeoCpuSpeed to overclock the HD2, I’ve been working on overclocking the MSM7k SoC on the Raphael, with success. The same processor is present on the Diamond, Rhodium and the Topaz, so it should work on all of these devices. I’ve been able to underclock to 57MHz and overclock up to 710MHz, using small 19.2MHz steps. It can clock even further, but it depends on the quality of the processor in your device where the limit for you lies.
- Diamond (unconfirmed)
- Topaz (unconfirmed)
