Its been quite some time since we last spoke of this S2U2 theme, but with this minor update, it’s fair to mention it. This theme, is one of the favorites from our member demonizator.
The theme brings a new look to the same old S2U2 Iphone design. With the new update that look is changed a little more and integrated a little better.

The XDAndroid team has been very busy lately, progressing the Touch Pro2 Android port faster than any other team or forum. Thanks to Reefermattness, we stay updated on their recent updates and get the links to download. They recently released an update that adds some pretty nice features and brings some changes to the build/zimage.
I have this running on my Touch Pro2, and it is a speed demon. It loads fast, it updates fast, it feels fast. I am sure they are just a month away from having a perfect port, then ROMs might be the next step.
The thread contains all your links.
With the growing popularity of Android on Windows Mobile, this new launcher can save you some time when launching it. The launcher was created by bedoig, and he managed to get a perfect launcher going that does all the work for you.
I like having my backlight auto-adjust in WM, but for the time being we still have to turn that off before launching Haret in order to have backlight control in Android. So… here is a little app that does just that… disables the automatic backlight adjustment and then runs haret. Just install the cab and look for “Android Launcher” in your Start menu (you still need your own Android package on your storage card – including haret).
Also, I had originally intended to write another little program to run at Windows startup to re-enable auto-adjustment, but it doesn’t seem to be necessary. The setting doesn’t appear to stick after the system reboots. Maybe there isn’t enough time before haret runs for the registry to be committed. Not really sure, but I’d be curious if anyone else’s results vary.
Edit – new version configurable via the registry. Change the string value at HKLM\SOFTWARE\AndroidLauncher — HaretLocation to reflect the location of haret on your storage card.
Edit2 – added app to re-enable the auto-adjustment on Windows startup, since the results seemed to be inconsistent. This will ensure that it is back on when Windows starts. If you’ve downloaded previously, you might want to update to this version.

Much like with the XDANDROID project, which works on porting Android to much-loved Windows Mobile devices such as the Raphael, Blackstone, Rhodium and Diamond, various members of the forum have been working together to port the complete Ubuntu Linux distro to a range of handsets.
This originated with fatsal‘s port to Sony Ericsson’s XPERIA X1, but support and development has grown substantially and the operating system is now working (with varying degrees of functionality) on several other devices.
The port operates very similarly to that of Android. Users must put the relevant system files into the root of their SD card, and run haret.exe to boot into Linux. WiFi support should be fixed for all devices, but the touchscreen must be used like a trackpad to move the cursor. Obviously, calls and texts cannot be made through Ubuntu as it is designed as a complete PC OS, not a mobile OS.
For your own device, please see the respective thread, read the given instructions very carefully (as they differ between devices) and remember to download the appropriate zImage:
Rhodium users should also read the Wiki entry on Ubuntu for Rhodium
Don’t worry if your device isn’t currently featured: the project is still growing and it is very likely to span to other devices in the coming weeks.
[ElCondor], one of our news writers and member of our forums has developed a new look for Sense. This new theme brings a refreshingly original and calm, look and design.
The theme is white with black, it brings the complete look to every single tab in Sense. The release only includes 192X builds of Sense 2.5, but 12XX should be released soon.

HTC has gone wrong. The nice clean look on the first versions of Manila has been abandoned.
The clean icons have been replaced by disorderly icons, in every color of the rainbow. Grey turned into color.
The evolvement of the interface itself was good, but the designers began to imitate Samsung.
GTX Sense is – what I think – the way HTC should design. I am not saying they should make a white theme, but that fancy flashing stuff is everything except eyecandy.
The design of this theme is mainly inspired by HTC.com and the ZuneHD. The clean look of those interfaces is just excellent.

XDAndroid has been a work in progress for some time now, now a recent update brings a working WiFi adapter! The newest update from the XDAndroid team for the TouchPro2 and Diamond2 has finally fixed the WiFi problem, and now has very minor things left to fix.
The updated version is very impressive. I have been using it for the past day and a half, the speed, acuracy, wifi and everything else is just amazing! I would recommend anyone interested in Android to get this build right away. With all this progress I am sure an Android ROM that replaces Windows Mobile with Android will not be far away.

The newest version of Sense UI has been available for the HD2 since released, but now the Touch Pro2 might be receiving its own version. The Touch Pro2 has been living in envy since the original 2.5 release. The ROM section of the Touch Pro2 forum is overflowing with ROMs that use 2.5, but the version Verizon is developing loses some features, but also gains some.
The Touch Pro2′s version of Sense 2.5 will lose the programs, E-reader, documents and footprints tabs. But with that loss comes the gain, the new version will most likely be completely landscape capable, so your device will not have to stay in portrait mode. The new version might also be lightning fast, because we’re sure hoping Verizon would not release something that is as slow as the current HD2 versions that the Touch Pro2 users have been using.

A new 6.5 (sorry to say not 6.5.3) VZW ROM – the big surprise was Sense 2.5
Before you ask… NO – I cannot send you the ROM – I like my job way too much to jeapordize it – please don’t bother asking.
Screenshots below show the phone exactly after the ROM flash.
The only thing installed was SOTI Pocket Controller for screen caps.
The only other thing done to this phone was connect it to my WiFi, as this is a test device, and is not active.
Screenshots have been reduced in size by 50%
One thing I did note – most of the green highlights have been replaced by gray.
There are no PROGRAMS, E-READER, DOCUMENTS, or FOOTPRINTS tabs

There’s a vast amount of software available to the Touch Pro2, as such a list that contains the best is can come in helpful. This list has been created by skyler17, his list is populated with many applications for different functions. Amongst recent additions are Co0kie’s home tab and LockDevice.

I’m addicted to flashing. But I like my apps. I had always wished that there would be a central place that I could look at for quality apps for the Rhodium that others can confirm work. The download links are in the descriptions.

Thierry2064 has given action screen a bit of color with his colorful adaption, action screen with 18 buttons is an app created by Wedge666. The app will give you an action screen with no less than 18 buttons, the app requires Mortscript and possibly .NET Compact Framework 3.5.

All credit goes to Wedge666, to posters in his thread for customization and of course to the first Action Screen developer (I would quote him if I knew. Anyone knows? Or was it adapted from a HTC application?).
As in the original from Wedge666, you trigger with Manila Home tab right soft key, and you can configure program to make it running in background if you wish (quicker?). You have no confirmation message on shut down or reset.

Reefermattness created a simple .cab file to install Android on Rhodium, it was built for those of you who do not have the time or know-how to build your own package, it is by no means perfect but will give you an idea of what to expect.
- NEW Feb. 03 02/01/10 Android.Eclair.2.0.1 XDAndroid Build
- NEW Feb. 03 New Kernel: Allows Android to use almost twice as much available RAM!! Faster boot, faster Android, GOTTA TRY IT.
- NEW Feb. 03 New Touchscreen Calibration tool during first Haret boot (its during the first Haret! You cant miss it! If you mis-calibrate your device, delete ts-calibration file from your SD card and re-run Haret!)
- NEW Feb. 03 Rootfs for Tilt2 and Rhod210 Keyboard map! (Thank AdamWill for the remap and hours of sleepless testing!!)
If you do not skip the preliminary android setup on this build the WiFi connect WILL CRASH ANDROID and you will have a soft reset. To add your Gmail account once phone is booted go to menu(windows key) > settings > accounts & sync > add account
This package is set up for Rhod210 Keyboard. Tilt2 users download this .cab for correct keyboard mapping.

NRGZ28 has made a very lite ROM that can be used to boot various Android releases found on xda-dev. It’s made for the Rhodium.

Do not download this ROM to use as a regular Windows phone. It has NOTHING in it but drivers and 21889. It’s almost useless, for anything but booting android.
Superboy007 and Steve0007 have made a great theme for manila 2.5 1922 with great visual appeal.
