Perhaps you remember the article “Battle Of The OS´”. Well, almost one month later, we have interesting results on a side poll we created to know what members choice was regarding their preferred operating systems.
The answer is pretty obvious but we are getting an impressive second place on the poll: Windows Mobile, yes WM is the second most preferred OS by the voters!
It is clear that WM, a cornerstone of mobile operating systems, is still present on many devices and as you may read on the Portal, there is active development, but not as much as before though. According to the poll, Android is getting harder to beat regardless of the OS.

Opera has launched just a few hours ago -at the time, we were writing this article.- The new version of Opera Mobile 11 and Opera Mini 6 are available for most operating systems and the promo they are using is focused on a rock band where every player is related to the desired OS; seven platforms, 3,000 different devices and 100 million Opera users around the world. Opera Mobile 11 is ready to download for Android, Symbian, Windows Phone 7 and MeeGo, and Opera Mini 6 for Android, BlackBerry and Symbian. Sorry iOS, no love for you from Norway…

Although in a very early alpha development stage, XDA developer stroughtonsmith managed to get MeeGo to work on his Gingerbread-running Samsung Nexus S. Don’t expect anything from it though as even the touchscreen doesn’t work yet. Stroughtonsmith has asked the community for other developers to help on this project, so, if you have some great Android development skills, you would be more than welcome to join the MeeGo development.
