Amplify, Xposed Module to Block Wakelocks/Alarms and Save Battery, Updated for Nougat

Amplify, an Xposed module for blocking wakelocks/alarms to save battery, has received a version bump to 4.0.0, adding Android Nougat and SELinux support.

Before Android 7.0 Nougat was launched, one of the most popular modules for the Xposed Framework was Amplify. Amplify, to put it short, is an Xposed Module which allows users to take full control of wakelocks and alarms on your Android device. Since it's able to control some of the worst system wakelocks, like NlpWakelock and NlpCollectorWakeLock, Amplify has been shown to significantly improve battery life. It, along with GravityBox, was one of the most sorely missed features when users upgraded to Android Nougat and left behind Xposed. Now that the Xposed Framework has been updated with full Android Nougat (7.0/7.1) support, though, Amplify has now followed suit and is compatible with the latest version of Xposed.

Yesterday, Chainfire announced the first update after version 2.78 of SuperSU was made stable. As we've mentioned before, the SR updates are basically a different name for beta versions of SuperSU. The name change was put into place as an attempt at reducing the number of people trying to upload beta releases to non-Google Play app stores since it would continue to carry the same version number.

HTC One M9

HTC has been very vocal about which devices they plan on updating to Android 7.0 Nougat. Starting all the way back in May of this year, HTC announced their official roadmap for Android 7.0 Nougat (called Android N at the time). We were told they had plans to update the HTC One M9, HTC One A9, and the HTC 10 with Google's latest version of Android. The one device left off in this list was the HTC One M8, which didn't have any plans to get officially updated at that time.

Since September, XDA Recognized Developer Chainfire started a new versioning system for SuperSU. This began with version 2.78 SR1 of SuperSU, and today the man has released 2.78 SR5. Instead of labeling them as a Beta, he changed this to a Service Release naming scheme. He felt this would be a good way of reducing the number of people trying to upload beta releases to non-Google Play app stores since it would continue to carry the same version number.
