TrakAx

We all love our Android and Windows Phone 7 devices because they are wonderful pieces of technology that can do pretty much everything that we can do on a computer. However, we don’t have to forget that these great platforms are standing on the shoulders of a dying giant called Windows Mobile. This platform paved the way for what we currently have as smooth, multi-purpose devices. One use that we can give to these devices is for video editing and XDA member manhab points us to an app that has been dormant in our forums for quite sometime. The app was specifically made for VGA, but the dev brings it to us in a compatible version for QVGA devices. The app is called TrakAx and has been provided in the thread for those of you who are still loyal to WM.

You see? This member searched and found what he was looking for. XDA is a vast (and I do mean vast) source for mobile apps, development, and its history. You’d be surprised what you can find in our site.

hi

For those of you on Windows Mobile devices and using the classic S2U2 app by XDA member A_C, there are many themes available.

More recently, since the introduction of Android, we have seen more themes based on the popular OS and here are some funky Android clocks by XDA member ayy3um.

The clocks are in 24 hour format, although the XDA member has also provided the A/P/M png files for the clocks in a separate attachment. The clocks come in orange, white and black and the sliders, notification icons, system icons and wallpapers are also available to download.

Additionally included is an Android analog clock by XDA member frambo88.

For more information, and to download the files, head on over to the forum post hidden in the depths of the S2U2 customisation thread!

Do you think Windows Mobile development has stopped? Well, perhaps it has slowed down but it is still active. Proof of that is the Windows Phone 7 style Idialer presented by XDA member 72ls1. This one is specially for the good old QVGA Windows Mobile devices. It includes speed dial, portrait and landscape dialers, and call progress screens. Now you can have the look and feel of the newer operating system on your device on this nicely designed application.

For those members using Farsi language now thanks to XDA anishtan32, we can have it on Windows Mobile devices. After installing this application, Finger Keyboard will display as a new option the language Far. Members reported working on WVGA, VGA and QVGA resolutions. To install, just copy the extracted file into (root):\program files\fingerkeyb\skins\.  Probably, you will need a soft reset after doing this.
Please leave feed back to the developer.

If you have a Windows Mobile device with a resolution of QVGA or WQVGA, this theme created by XDA member doc3000 will be of your liking. Designed to work with SPB 3.5 and up this theme has a style combination of WM and Android, UI is very well finished and developer presents in three versions which differ in purpose contacts button of bottom menu bar. Widgets pack with clocks and more can be found on the original thread as well.
The theme must be installed on main memory and preferably in a WWE ROM.

Special thanks:

Thanks to M-MAX, NAONG and Vostradamus for his widgets used in my theme
Thanks to vincent.316 for his HTC Pure 3 Theme which formed my bottom menu bar

I made 3 version of theme. They differ in purpose contacts button of bottom menu bar:

First: open favorites SPB contacts.
Second: open the Phonex address book.
The third: open the Inesoft Phone Address Book.

You must have installed Phonex or Inesoft Phone for 2-3 versions

Installation:

- INSTALL TO DEVICE MEMORY
– install on a clean Shell

Problems are all related to a non ENGLISH rom version.

1. Don`t work:

- Just duplicate the SPB Mobile shell folder under the Localized program files folder to a “Program Files” folder on the root of device.
For example my “Program Files” is “Programas” (Portuguese) so i made a folder named “Program Files” on the root and copied the “SPB Mobile shell folder” into there after a reboot everything works. Of course you’ll get extra 11,25MB ocupied but until no other solution it works very well”. Thanks to jpl69

October 13, 2010   By:

Making a time travel trough the infinite threads floating around we found WaitCursor, an application created by XDA member Marshall07 that will let you change the wait cursor on your Windows Mobile device. A big collection of many different style icons to change your actual cursor can be found on the developer’s original thread. You can even create your own wait cursor.
Despite the app is quite old still has good acceptance from members with newer devices. Working on WM6.5 and up for VGA and QVGA resolutions.

We have not seen too much stuff for non touch screen devices recently. XDA member Thekn presents Thekn Apps , a series of mortscript tweaks to completely customize your Windows Mobile Standard device.
With the developer’s tweaks you´ll be able to modify fonts, icons, and splash screens running WM6.1 and 6.5.
It was tested on Samsung GT-C6625, but I can confirm it´s working on Excalibur and Maple.

now it must be bug free! Also the Tweaks by Thekn v1.0 has some delay

released in a couple of days!

This Program let you change the System Font. The downloaded .rar file

popular Windows Unicode Fonts.

The release of much press-coverage of the imminent Windows Phone 7 operating system has spawned many look-a-like themes and applications, which allow older devices to imitate the look and feel of the new software to please their tech-hungry owners.

One of the more popular of these modifications was WP7UI by XDA member ashiqiqbal. Recently, the project has been terminated and reborn as ‘the Host’ – ashiqiqbal’s new WP7-like home screen replacement.

‘The Host goes one step further than WP7UI ever did, by offering additional customisation tools to its users. For instance, animated tiles are now available as well as finger-swipe navigation and support for landscape mode.

‘The Host’ is a standalone application and, unusally for such a release, is compatible with almost all resolutions found on Windows Mobile devices. If you would like to add a little bit of WP7 to your device, simply download the .cab from the application thread.

Check out the WMSkins.com official category for Nitrogen! You may continue posting here, of course, but it would be awesome to have a skin gallery as they offer on their site. So, consider registrating there (won’t take more than 2 min) and post your work there!

SKINS ONLY!!!
Let’s make this thread as clean as possible! Please just post here the skins/mods you’ve designed for Nitrogen 0.3+! If you have questions/requests/comments to make, please post them on this thread or PM the author!

Click here to download the Skin Toolbox, a utility to make skins for Nitrogen 0.3!
This page will contain skins for the MP3 Player Nitrogen 0.3 and later versions. Let’s make this a skin gallery: each post containing a skin, with the output generated by the Skin Exporter utility. If you designed a skin and like to share it, export it as ZIP file and post it here with a screenshot!
More details on how to use the Skin Toolbox (tutorials, FAQ, etc. will be coming soon!).
Note: it’s highly recommended to provide the SKPROJ file along with the skin. This way, other users can provide mods and adapt to their resolutions! To do that, please leave the option “Include source in ZIP file” checked, on the Skin Exporter utility.

Please drop by the skins collection thread for more information.

Now that the football season is well underway, you’ll need a way to keep up with your team in the league.  If you follow the French league then Ligue 1 Pocket 2010 may be just the app that you’re looking for.

Developed by XDA forum members zorro1981, cua-tro and with graphics by chinubrio, the Windows Mobile application provides all you need to know about the French league, including a Live mode where you can be advised of more important events during a match.

Ligue 1 Pocket 2010 keeps you up to date with results, and information on team changes.

The application supports multiple languages and all displays.

Requires a data connection.

For more information including download links, head on over to the application thread.

There are a few keyboard options around for Windows Mobile devices, but there are limited options that make it easier for you to use on smaller screens.

ZoomKey developed by XDA forum member pmprog is intended to make the keyboard easier for use with thumbs/fingers on the smaller screens, by combining two keys together.

Once you press on one of the ‘dual keys’, it will zoom in. Whilst your finger is still on the key, slide it to the left side or the right side of the enlarged key.  When you lift your finger it will enter the key that your finger was on.

ZoomKey SIP is currently in alpha, and hence there may be bugs.  The dev is intending to add an option to set the custom height for the SIP area, so if you use a WQVGA device, you can allocate more space to the SIP.

Other future development options include multiple skin support, multiple character set support, and tap to zoom.

For more information and to download the alpha, visit the application thread.
