The team behind the popular LineageOS custom ROM has been extending LineageOS 17.1 support to new devices ever since the ROM made its debut earlier this year in April. Over the last couple of months, the team has added support for devices like the ASUS ROG Phone II, Google Pixel 3 series, Xiaomi Mi A1, OnePlus One, Google Pixel 3a, Google Pixel 4, and many more. Since our previous coverage, the team has added support for four more devices.
CarbonROM teams drops Android Oreo support and adds 5 new Android 10 devices
CarbonROM 8.0 "PAX" based on Android 10 has added support for 5 new devices. However, Android Oreo-based CarbonROM "Noct" isn't supported any more.
Back in April, the team behind the CarbonROM project released CarbonROM revision 8.0 (code-name "PAX") - the first stable Android 10-based build of this custom ROM — for a handful devices from different manufacturers. The initial roster contains legacy smartphones like the Google Nexus 4 as well as current-gen devices such as the Xiaomi Redmi K30/POCO X2. The developers also committed to bring official support to many more devices after finding a proper recovery solution for them.
LineageOS 16 adds support for the Realme 3 Pro, Sony Xperia Z3, and Nubia Z17
The LineageOS team has now extended official LineageOS 16 support for the Realme 3 Pro, the Sony Xperia Z3, and the Nubia Z17.
Over the last couple of months, several devices have received official support for LineageOS 16 — the popular Android 9 Pie-based custom ROM. These custom ROM builds offer old devices a new lease on life and allow users to experience Android 9 Pie on devices that otherwise wouldn't have received an official update. Thanks to the LineageOS 16 support, devices like the Samsung Galaxy S4, S4 Active, Moto X (2014), LG G3, ZenFone 3, Yandex Phone, Galaxy S3 Neo, and Redmi Note 4X can enjoy all the features Google introduced in Android Pie. Now, the LineageOS team has extended support for a few more devices, including the Realme 3 Pro, Sony Xperia Z3, and Nubia Z17.
