The Weekly Q&A: Week 30

Every week, we select five questions and answers, found on the forums. Even though some of these questions and answers might not be of help to you, they might still be interesting to read.

Q‘Is there a way to make the HDMI on the EVo 4G work with all videos?’

A YES there is. If you aren’t rooted already do it and download HDMwIn from the market.

  • Q&A originally posted in the EVO 4G thread.

Q‘Is it possible through your phone to check recent activity or if its possible to get a notice if someone is trying or has accessed your Gmail account from another computer?’

A Nope. Your only choice is a browser.

  • Q&A originally posted in the EVO 4G thread.

Q‘Will the custom WP7 ROMs update to NODO or will you need to install a new ROM?’

A You will need a new ROM. As of today the HD2 can’t be updated through Zune.

  • Q&A originally posted in the HD2 Windows Phone 7
    thread.

Q‘Could it be possible to add a function or a app to hide people listed in contacts?’

A If you sync with Google, you can assign them to a certain group, then not show that group.

  • Q&A originally posted in the Epic 4G thread.

Q‘I have tried every setting and cannot get the text or email keyboard to display a £ symbol rather than dollar sign. How do i get a £ (pound) symbol?’

A Press 12# to get the numbers, and then 1/2 to get page 2 and there it is.

  • Q&A originally posted in the Desire HD thread.

We certainly hope that you can use these bits of knowledge. This site is full of wonderful guides for virtually every question you could have. Read them and put them to good use.

T-Mobile Galaxy S6 Battery Woes

I've been using a T-Mobile Galaxy S6 since the device launched with T-mobile's service. However, over this past holiday weekend I knew I would be in an area without reliable T-Mobile service. So, I opened up T-Mobile's default "Device Unlock" app , pressed unlock, and placed my AT&T SIM card in the device. Everything seemed to be working fine: strong signal, great LTE, good voice calls - until day 3. On Sunday, my Galaxy S6 felt very hot to the touch and...

Earthquake Early Warning in Your Pocket

Probably all of us reading this have a smartphone in our pocket. For many of us, the smartphone has become our primary method of reading and writing e-mails, messaging, and browsing the web. Though proclamations that "smartphones have replaced the personal computer" typically fall on deaf ears, the statements aren't without merit. Indeed, smartphones have "replaced"—or more accurately, "displaced"—PC's in several areas that they have traditionally been dominant. But how many of you look into your pocket, or on your desk, and...

Needless to say, many believe that Sony Mobile as a company is great and is worth saving. And all of these would be happy to hear that Sony will...
