Get ready for the World Cup and follow your team’s progress in South Africa with World Cup 2010!
XDA forum member otherworld has released version 1.1 of World Cup 2010 for Winmo users. The main screen shows a countdown to the World Cup with three tabs showing your team, the tournament stage including latest news and today’s fixtures.
All dates, match times and details are already loaded in the application, which results in no data connection being required initially. However, once matches have been played and scores require updating, then the app will automatically connect to the internet.

It has all the teams, news (just for your team or for the tournament), groups, schedules, points, scores that update, fixtures that update (e.g. once a team has qualified) etc. etc. The moment the app loads you can see when your team’s next match is (or the tournament’s next match), and if you’re stuck at work unable to watch a match you’ll get score updates during it! All with a quick & very intuitive interface, nice animated menus and kinetic scrolling.
The app is compatible with WM 6.0 – 6.5.3 and the update to Version 1.1 is free for existing 1.0 users.
Although, it is currently only available in the UK Marketplace, the international release is expected later this week.
